Lindsay Lohan returns to acting with Liz Taylor
Lindsay Lohan will play the legendary Elizabeth Taylor in a new television movie, said Monday the Lifetime Network Television, confirming what Lohan was saying for weeks while he continues his return to normal after suffering legal and personal problems.
Lohan, 25, is the first name is announced for the Lifetime Original Movie "Liz & Dick," based on the true story of the passionate romance with actor Taylor Richard Burton, with whom he was married twice.
"I've always admired and felt a great respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress, but also was an extraordinary woman," Lohan said in a statement, adding that it was an "honor" to interpret it.
Taylor, known by all for her beauty and glamor, Burton met while filming the 1963 film "Cleopatra" and so began a passionate and tumultuous romance that made headlines around the world since married and divorced twice .
Lohan had talked last month about his role in the film in an interview, and published a photo of Taylor came dressed as your Twitter profile. But there had been no official confirmation of the chain until Monday.
The star of "Mean Girls" has been trying to erase his bad guy image in recent months after entering and leaving prison, rehabilitation and the courts since 2007.
Lohan was released in March after five years on probation after being arrested in 2007 for driving while intoxicated and drug possession.
